'People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel’.


As a teacher, I understand that I have one of the most important jobs in the world. As what I do in the classroom, shapes the future generations. I ensure that the work that I do in the classroom empowers my students to become self-motivated learners and to become passionate, lifelong learners. The work I do in the classroom and the behaviour I model inspires those around me.


Students

I think we can all remember at least one teacher who inspired us to achieve and that when looking back we think about them fondly. I would like to be that teacher for my students!

I am passionate about providing my students with an engaging and challenging learning experience which is personalised to their individual needs and interests. I work diligently in a partnership with my students, colleagues and my student's families to help each of my students achieve their personal best. The highly engaging, authentic and hands-on learning experiences I provide my students help each of my students to develop a love of learning. I want my students to remember being supported in their learning and that they really enjoyed coming to school. My strong holistic approach towards education and the values I portray including collaboration, kindness, respect and excellence enables my students to develop as caring and considerate human beings.


I would like other students at the school to want to be in my class. I would like my reputation amongst the students to be one of being a kind, hardworking, fair and approachable teacher.



Parents

'No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children's best interests’.


I am passionate about developing meaningful partnerships with my student's families. I pride myself in being an approachable teacher and ensure that I have an open-door policy and make time to meet with my student's families. I regularly call my students families with good news and invite them into the classroom on special days. I understand that parents just want to know that their child's teacher cares about them and has their child's best interests at heart. Many of my student's families have commented on what a huge difference I have made in the lives of their child. This has ranged from parents who didn't believe their child would ever read and through my guidance and support have become highly engaged readers to families telling me that their child wakes them up early every morning because they are so excited to attend school each day.


I want my student's families to remember me as a highly approachable teacher who worked with them in a partnership to support their child. I would like my students' families to feel that I have made a big impact on their child's learning journey, that they were listened to and heard.

Colleagues

I am extremely hard working and enjoy being a responsible and respectful colleague and an important team player. I demonstrate collective responsibility for all students at school. I enjoy assisting with co-curricular activities and sharing my ideas and resources with others.


I would like my colleagues to remember me as an approachable and extremely hard-working teacher. I would like to be remembered as having a strong work ethic, being responsible and reliable and being someone, they enjoyed collaborating with.
